Spring Break for Devil Rays?
Jacque Cousteau has nothing over on Barbara one of our favorite marine adventure guides when she stumbled upon something incredibly rare, a massive school of Devil Rays.
On one clear beautiful day Barbara and clients were out cruising looking for giant Manta Rays by small islands not far off the beach at Playa Coco in Guanacaste when she noticed a large number of Devil Rays, but had no idea until she jumped in the water with them…that there were hundreds!
The Devil Rays where flying around islands that are in front Playa Coco in only 40-ft of water when she jumped in to get a closer look. The captain sent up his drone to get this incredible shot! In her 10-years she has never seen even half that many at one-time in one school. They must have been on Spring Break…?!
And yes, that is Barbara in the school. A photo is worth a thousand words…or three letters…WOW!
